Apple & Caramel Mocktail
Drinking can be a lot of fun - it's a social activity, takes the pressure off situations, and can be a great past time. But for some of us, drinking brings more trouble than it's worth. If it's not the people around me, it's my own body that literally rejects alcohol. After getting diagnosed with Lyme Disease, I found myself having to forego drinking because even just one would crash my immune system and make me really ill. I've gotten to the point where drinking really just isn't worth weeks of recovery for me, but I still love going out and being social. For others, 2020 has been really tough and what many don't realize is that drinking can actually make you more depressed (not just when you're drinking) because of the chemical imbalance it creates in your brain. I've encouraged others to not take to drinking to solve their 2020 boredom, but still folks are looking for release.
So I've had to get a little creative and design some mocktails, which have become a big hit - both with my body and with others. They're fun and creative to make and give you the sense you're engaging in normal social activity. There's never been a New Year's that people have been more excited to celebrate - we're all looking forward to a new start and better year than 2020, so I wanted to share one of my favorite mocktails you can make with just a few ingredients that you probably already have laying around.
The Apple & Caramel Mocktail is legit delicious and worth every sip. Not only is it beautiful for fall and winter parties, but it tastes absolutely next-level.
YOU WILL NEED
Hershey's UNsalted Caramel sauce
1/3 Cup Ground Cinnamon
1 Cinnamon Stick
5.8 Ounces Chilled Apple Cider
6.8 Ounces Chilled Ginger Beer
HOW TO MAKE
Warm Caramel for 10 seconds in microwave.
Dip rim in warmed Caramel, then in Ground Cinnamon.
Pour 2 Ounces warmed Caramel in glass, then Apple Cider, then Ginger Beer.
Stir well until well combined and bubbled at top.
Garnish with Cinnamon Stick.
