Planning for Success: My PA Planner
It's the second week of 2021 and already we're seeing that we're falling behind on our goals. Or, at least, that's what I'm seeing posted all over social. I see a lot of my friends and colleagues posting that they've already gotten distracted and sidetracked (and rightfully so when you have a lot happening in the world).
As a strategist, one thing I always stress to those I’m helping mentor is that you have to have a strategy for how you’ll get to where you want to go. Achieving our goals doesn’t just happen out of convenience - you have to set your milestones, know your obstacles, and plan for overcoming them.
That's where My PA Planner has truly been a game changer.
This is a phenomenal tool that helps you reflect on 2020 and set your path for 2021 so you can stay on track for your short and long term goals.
When you open up the My PA Planner, you're first encouraged to reconcile what happened in 2020 - both good and bad. There's an opportunity to look at financial targets you achieved, business goals you hit, and personal steps you took toward growth. It helps you celebrate your wins so you can see how far you've come. It also helps you identify the challenges you had in 2020 to getting even further - decisions you could have made differently and unproductive habits.
My favorite box to fill in was defining "what made you happy in 2020" because it's easy to overlook those positives, given everything that happened last year.
After you've reflected on 2020, you have the opportunity to look ahead to 2021. You make a list of things you want to achieve - big or small - as well as do some soul searching. The My PA Planner recognizes that to be successful in your career, you have to first feel successful with who you are, so it asks you to identify what you love to do on a personal level, what you don't like to do, what you're good at, and so forth. What I love about this is that it can really help you identify if what you're dedicating your time to is truly what will fulfill you in your purpose.
It also helps you identify the realities of your 2021 - where will you work from, how do you plan to relax, and any habits you want to build or break. I REALLY love this, because it can help you identify what tools you may need to succeed and proactively plan for balance.
2021 Business Plan
As a veteran marketer, this is where I really got to nerd out. The 2021 Business Plan section of the planner helps you identify your target audience, sales funnel, who your brand is and what you represent. I'm not an artist, but I'm a very visual person and I love that this section includes a sketch pad for business ideas - branding, vision, etc. Really, this entire section is what I help clients identify all the time and I love that it's packaged into one easy space.
Once you've mapped all of this out, you have the opportunity to outline your financial plan that will help you achieve your goals. This is probably one of the most valuable areas of this book, because it's hard to know where to start when considering the financial aspects of developing your own brand or hustle.
Planning is half the battle when it comes to success. It's certainly critical to your growth to be able to outline where you want to go and how you'll get there, but then executing on that consistently is where a lot of people can get stuck. My PA Planner is really amazing when it comes to keeping you on track - each month has a calendar, financial tracking sheet, social media growth tool, and content planner for the month.
I really could go on about each of the amazing things about this planner, but my marketing brain says I need to end this here and let you see for yourself. You have the opportunity through January 15th to win your own in a giveaway on social media (see my post on IG), but you always have the ability to purchase your own by clicking here.
I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do!
